Hours of service are based on community needs and are subject to funds available to provide adequate staffing. Any change in regular hours of service is subject to approval by the Board.

The Director is responsible for determining emergency closings. The library is closed on:
- New Year`s Day
- Martin Luther King, Jr. Day
- Easter Sunday
- Memorial Day
- Independence Day
- Labor Day
- Thanksgiving Day
- Christmas Eve Day
- Christmas Day
When New Year`s Day, Independence Day, Christmas Eve Day, or Christmas Day falls on Sunday, the library is closed on Sunday and Monday. The Library closes at 6 p.m. on Thanksgiving Eve. The library closes at 6 p.m. on New Year’s Eve unless it falls on a Saturday or Sunday, in which case the library is open normal operating hours.
The Main Library is closed on Sundays May through September.
The library will close to the public for in-service staff development one full day each year.
